Cedar Creek Disc Golf Course Review

Cedar Creek Disc Golf Course

Nestled in the heart of the Ozark mountains, the Cedar Creek Disc Golf Course in Arkansas has a special place in my lil’ old heart.

Update: As of 4/30/23 the course has been closed until further notice.

Since the first round I played, I was captivated by the rugged beauty of the course. It is literally my favorite place to unwind when I need to turn off my phone and connect with nature.

Ok, enough granola talk.

When it comes to layout and design, Cedar Creek is pure quality. Combining pro-tour style with the perfect blend of technical wooded holes, narrow creeks, and open fields, the course will make you throw a variety of shots with all of the discs in your bag.

However, be prepared to have your skills tested by the steep inclines and deep valleys (elevation changes). If you’re looking for a workout during your round, you’re in the right place.

The course has magnificent views and a sense of tranquility, so it is an excellent spot to take a date. Yes, it’s off the beaten path, and the road is bumpy, but the charm of Cedar Creek lies in its rustic, backwoods appeal.

It can be challenging to find the course even with Google Maps, so leave a little early in case you get lost like I did.

The tee pads are on the smaller side, but adds to the challenge and uniqueness of the course. And while they may be a bit awkward for run-ups, they are well-maintained, just like the pro-level baskets on every hole. However, it’s worth noting that the rough around the course is punishing, so make sure to keep track of where your disc lands (or you’ll lose half your bag).

The course is still a work in progress, with its rustic charm reflecting the hard work that’s gone into crafting it. Some areas could use a bit more upkeep, but the spirit of the place shines through. It’s a diamond in the rough, a course with real potential, and I can’t wait to see how it continues to evolve.

So if you’re looking for a challenging, unique disc golf experience in a stunning setting, the Cedar Creek Disc Golf Course is one of my favorite suggestions.

Don’t forget to leave a donation at the first hole as a thank you for the unforgettable experience and continual upkeep. Here’s to many more games on this fantastic course!
